Concussion Protocol and Information Sheet

In accordance with AB 2007, a new California state law that went into effect January 1, 2017.  Youth sports organizations, such as LCBSA, are required to adopt a concussion protocol, train board members and coaches, and provide information to athletes and parents about the signs and symptoms of concussions and what to do if a concussion is suspected.  We need each LCBSA player to have the Parent & Athlete Concussion Information Sheet (second page) signed by their parent or guardian, and give it to your player's coach as soon as possible.

Parent and Athlete Information Sheet

If you would like to view the concussion training that the board members and coaches are all required to take, you are welcome to access it here:

Concussions - California Interscholastic Federation.

Keep in mind that the training was developed for high school student-athletes, so it states that "adolescents are at highest risk." In fact, children are at even higher risk than adolescents because their brains are in a more vulnerable stage of development.
